Outside

Feels like all my friends are talking while I'm fading out the frame,
constantly slipping but to them it's all the same,
and they act like they don't see, that they're leaving me behind,
but I know, I know, I know, I'm the last thing on their minds,

cause I've always got to ask them to repeat what's going on,
they tell me that it's fine but I feel I'm always wrong,

And I always try to speak up cause they tell me I'm to soft, turns out there's a fine line between annoying and so loved,

I always feel I'm on the outside need someone to pull me in, but now I'm not close to anyone, I swear I'm just scraping the rim, 
Tired of being easy to forget, easy to let go,
Just a fading face you used to know, wearing paper thin

And they say I'm not trying, like the effort's never shown,
Like I haven't been right beside them, never felt so alone,
So I sit here counting all the times I spoke up in the room,
Turns out trying means nothing if they don't try too.
